Electrical Heat Treatment Service
On site pre-heating, hydrogen de-gassification and post weld heat treatment of pipework, welded fabrication and pressure vessels. Flexible electrical resistance heating elements are manufactured in a range of sizes to suit a wide range of applications and are connected to either low Voltage (65 Volt) or high Voltage (240 Volt) power sources.
Temperature control is via pre-programmable microprocessor based modules and temperature measurement by pre calibrated temperature recorders. All temperature measuring equipment is calibrated in accordance with national standards.
Preheating
Preheating is the application of heat to the base metal prior to welding or cutting operations. It does not change the properties of the steel, but it is advisable under certain conditions to drive off moisture and helps to ensure even expansion to eliminate undesirable stresses. Concurrent heating during welding (also referred to as preheating) retards the cooling thus preventing the formulation of an under bead crack.
Stress Relieving (Post Weld Heat Treatment)
Stress Relieving is the heating of steel to a relatively high temperature and maintaining that temperature for a specific period of time. The purpose is to reduce internal stresses, caused by welding, quench hardening or by cold working. It also has an advantageous effect on the elasticity, ductility and strength of the metal. This process involves heating the steel to a temperature below the materials’ transformation point.
Annealing
Annealing is essentially the softening of a metal to make it more malleable. The process involves a controlled heating and slow cooling which induces softness and ductility. Additionally, the process removes gasses, relieves stresses and enhances the mechanical properties in alloyed steels. This is generally performed at temperatures above the materials’ re-crystallisation point.
Normalising
Normalising is much like annealing, but the cooling process is much faster. This results in increased strength but less ductility in the metal. It also produces a higher yield strength with greater tensile strength, and in most instances, a higher impact resistance. This process involves heating the steel to just above the upper critical limit.
Solution Heat Treatment
Solution Heat Treatment is performed on certain types of austenitic stainless steel to prevent decay in weldment. This is done at a very high temperatures (e.g) 1200C and the cooling is very rapid.
Oven and Furnace
Industrial ovens and furnaces have formed a significant part of PT. Daya Panasindo Teknik Indonesia business. This experience, together with our design capability and a total commitment to quality from our manucfacturing units ensures that plant and equipment can be supplied giving complete satisfaction. All installations are custom designed and can be supplied either on a full turnkey basis or if in-house fabrication facilities are available at the client’s works, on a design and part basis. In either case after-sales support service is on going.
Gas/Oil Burner Heat Treatment Services
PT. Daya Panasindo Teknik Indonesia has a range of high velocity burners to use gas or fuel oil for the purpose of providing in situ heat treatments on large fabrications such as caustic or sulphuric liquid storage tanks, reactor vessels, LPG spheres, etc. Many spheres have been heat treated in this manner which entails turning the sphere into an internal furnace and externally insulating with mineral wool.
Dry –Out or Curing Service
The Company has extensive experience in the field of refractory dry-out and in the controlled heating and ventilation for the drying of specialised linings. Our expertise in this field ensures maximum flexibility and minimum downtime. Our engineers are able to provide a flexible service to meet the most demanding of specification. Moisture is removed by strictly controlling heating rates to avoid damage to lining materials.
Typical applications for this procedure includes:
- Refractory Lined Reactors
- Blast furnace refractory
- Coal gasification plant refractory
- Refinery cracker unit refractory
- Aluminium holding furnace refractory
- Cement kiln pre-heaters and coolers
- Incinerator refractory
- Drying/curing of phenolic and catalysed epoxy linings.
Temporary Furnace Heat Treatment
PT. Daya Panasindo Teknik Indonesia has developed the use of transportable, lightweight, low thermal mass temporary furnace installations for the post weld heat treatment of large pressure vessels and fabrication. These furnaces are designed to be erected at site and are a fast, convenient and effective alternative to permanent furnaces and the high cost of transporting components to fixed installation.
Thermal Stress Analysis
For complex structures and to ensure structural integrity PT. Daya Panasindo Teknik Indonesia can undertake temperature gradient and thermal stress analysis using the latest computer generated Finite Element Analysis techniques.
Arc Machines
Arc Machines Inc. (AMI), is the world’s leading manufacturer of automatic orbital tube, pipe and tube to tubesheet welding equipment. The line of tube to tubesheet welding equipment with or without filler is used for the manufacture of heat exchangers with high production rates and the highest repeatability of quality
PT. Daya Panasindo Teknik Indonesia (DPTI) began it’s relationship with AMI (Gland, Switzerland) in early June 2001. At the request of one of the largest Power Generation Equipment Companies, DPTI procured Model 207 Microprocessor-controlled power supplies with the Model 96 Tube to tubesheet fusion weld heads.
To date PT. Daya Panasindo Teknik Indonesia, has completed production welding of Titanium, Duplex and Stainless Steel tube to tubesheet for turbine condenser units.
